2009
In December 2009, the number of trustees went from 3 to 5 person board.
A Federal SAFER Grant was awarded to the District, affording the appointment of the District’s first 7 career firefighters:
Dave Giese, Ed Vandrush, Andy Doyle, Kyle Smicker, Charles "Fuzz" Pandolfi, John Brownlow, and Dan Rozak
2010
May 1, 2010, the Paid-On-Call/Part time program began, staffing an additional 2 firefighters around the clock.
In June, the new fire station at 700 Cottage St. was opened.
2011
April 2011, the first elected Board of 5 trustees took office for the Fire District.
2017
May, 30, 2017, Troy Fire Protection District earned an ISO Class 1 rating,
placing the fire district in the top 1% of fire departments nationwide, and one of only six in the State of Illinois
2024
In October 2024, the Troy Fire Protection District proudly opened the doors to its Public Safety Training Facility at 748 Jones Road.
